Major League Baseball’s Chicago Cubs have signed manager Craig Counsell to a record-breaking contract.
The Cubs announced on Sunday that they have signed Counsell to a five-year, $40 million contract.

Counsell, who had stints with the Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Milwaukee Brewers during his playing days, began his coaching career as Milwaukee’s manager in 2015 after retiring from the game in 2011.
Despite being a novice manager with no previous experience on a coaching staff, he took over a team that was one of the worst in the league.
